The Howden Park Acoustic nights keep getting better and better. March's session held around 17 performers playing all different types of genres. We had lots of 80's classics, some country and some of the performers own material. I have been looking at 80's songs only for the first couple of months. However, we are due to take a break in July, and after that, I will move on to something else.
I was particularly impressed by one of the bands that come down regularly which consist of a two singer-guitarists and a Cajon player. They are called Strathfolk the new EP is called The Morning After it'll be available to download from most of the primary online sources, i-tunes from April 21st. Try and catch these lads if you can.
The next acoustic night will be held at the centre on MONDAY THE 23rd of April.
Monday the 26th of February saw a great turn out for the Howden Park Centre Acoustic night. We usually are in the Bistro part which has excellent acoustics for what we do however as there was a show on, we got given one of the small rooms.
Iv noticed more and more people come just to watch which is excellent as it lets some of the people who don't play in front of people a lot get a chance to play in front of a bigger crowd.
The most compelling thing about the night is listening to the diverse and surprising choices of song people perform. You get everything from Metal to country to people even singing the songs they have written.
Its hats off to West Lothian Leisure for putting these nights on.
The next shows are 26th March and then 23 April, 7.30 till 10.
